A very fine shakudo ground with gorgeous gold inlay work and a gold fukurin. The delicately carved horses, autumn grasses and bugs are realistic and show a high degree of ability and expressiveness. |
Mototada Ishiyama (H 05940.0) made a name for himself as a master craftsman in Kyoto. He was very adept at works that combined hairline carving with flat inlay. He was good at expressing scenes, landscapes, and flower drawings and his designs were highly expressive. |
