An elegant Goto kogai and kotsuka. Each of fine shakudo and decorated with horse trappings. The kozuka and kogai are finished with a fine and precise nanako ground.

They are both signed 'GOTO MITSUNOBU'. (See Haynes H 02396.0) This is Goto Mitsunobu Kakujo born in Kyoto 1589, died in Kaga 1656. He is the founder of the Kanbei Line. He is listed in the Soken Kisho, 1781,vol.2 pg.23.
