"A group of the Tosa Myochin smiths went to Edo to study with the Akasaka masters Tadatoki and Tadanori. It was the lord of Tosa, Yamanouchi, who inspired the Tosa school masters to work in Akasaka style. The best of their work is equal to the later Akasaka tsuba produced in Edo. In some of their work there is strong influence by the Higo style mixed with the Tosa Akasaka style." (Long)
