'SHIGEKATSU'
|
Provenance: Elliott Long | NFS |
"Presented here is a large iron work of beautiful Amidaba accentuated with gold inlays of karatake that extend to the sides. The state of preservation is good, even though there are areas of missing gold inlay. Though a simple design it has a powerful presence. Signed: 'SHIGEKATSU' of the Iyo Shoami school. He was a master craftsman who is believed to have been active in Kyoto in the mid Edo period." (Haynes & Long) 9.00cm x 0.50cm |
