Provenance: Robert Haynes | Not For Sale |
"Introducing the chrysanthemum-like openwork tsuba. This is a masterpiece tsuba inscribed by Shokashido Sunagawa Masayoshi', which is decorated with a splendid picture of a chrysanthemum in full bloom, and is made with the finest craftsmanship without cutting corners. The material and workmanship are both of the highest quality, and it also comes with a commemorative box written by Dr. Ichitaro Torigoye and Mei Kusado (Hanaoiri). The details of the workmanship are so attractive that I cannot explain them in my shallow writing. Both the workmanship and the materials are of the highest quality. This is the finest chrysanthemum work that can be said to be a model for Choshu Tsuba. Read Haynes Index H 04798.0." (Haynes & Long) 7.83cm x 7.45cm x 0.42cm |
