"Iron tsuba with the inscription Yasaka Eikan Mid-Edo period Bungo Ryokou Four-sided treasure bag crest Iron base, irregular shape, round ears, hair engraving, gold inlay, small transparent. The gold inlay has peeled off over time, but the iron base has not decayed and the rope stitches near the ears remain.

This tsuba is listed on page 334, number 17, of the "Tsuba Shusei" by Nakamura. A copy of the page is shown below.

The certificate of NBTHK (Green) special valuable tosogu has been confirmed by the Japan Art Sword Preservation Association." (Long)
