"A round (maru gata) iron tsuba with large rim attached. There is a kozuka-ana of early style. Appearing on the front opposite the hitsu is a dragon of Chinese origin (three toed) inlaid in brass. A portion of the inlay appears on the back but is not continued over the rim. A very early piece dating 1500 to Momoyama period." (Haynes, Irwin & Long) |
